1000 Pine Groves

简介

In 1753, following severe floods, the residents of Senbon Matsubara in Shizuoka Prefecture embark on a collaborative effort to prevent future inundations along the Kiso, Nagara, and Yuhi rivers. The central government mandates the people of Satsuma, from Kumamoto Prefecture, to undertake this arduous work. This forced labor leads to significant hardships for the Satsuma people, subtly foreshadowing the discontent that would eventually escalate into open rebellion in the subsequent century.
